Anne Fulwood is an agent and advocate for enterprising men and women across Australia.

She has spent her career listening to and addressing the needs of consumers as a network television news host, a writer for the Australian Financial Review, and facilitator for 10 years with the Telstra Business Awards programs. Anne Fulwood has been a mirror on the enterprises of Australians from all walks of life. Now she is in the business of sharing their stories to highlight the contribution they make to our community.

Anne will host the event, interview her panellists and invite you to participate in a moderated business Q&A.

Special Guest: Karen McNamara, MHR, Liberal Member for Dobell, NSW

Karen McNamara won the hard-fought Central Coast seat of Dobell for the Liberal party in the September 2013 election. As a working mother with two sons, Karen knows first-hand the challenges facing Central Coast families, with job security and rising costs of living. A strong local business community is one way of delivering opportunities in the region.


Karen forged a successful career in public administration with the NSW Government, having worked in senior roles for more than 20 years. She and her husband do a lot of work with the local community and sporting clubs and she is a big supporter of the small business sector.


This will be among her first official events, in support of SMEs, after being officially declared the Federal MHR for Dobell, on 26 September 2103.

With 10,000 fans on Facebook and 27 franchises across Australia and NZ, Lollypotz delivered about 250,000 gifts last year, for individual and corporate clients. In recent years, Louise has won the Franchise Council of Australia's Franchise Woman of the Year Award.

Neil Gibbins – Hire-A-Hubby, Gladesville

Neil spent the first 20 years of his business life working for Citibank and travelling all over Australia and South-East Asia. Neil has applied his banking skills and philosophy to the business of being a handyman and managing teams of handymen. In a business which must deliver the best face-to-face service, Neil has developed strategic online initiatives to keep his Hire-A-Hubby franchise up to date and accessible. At a recent Hire-A-Hubby national conference in Melbourne, he won the Most Valuable Hire-A-Hubby Franchisee in NSW, for the second year in succession. He has also won other state and national awards. They are judged on business skills and results and, as Neil says, they are good to win and hard to win, as they should be.

Anna was lucky enough to launch a business with her sister in Adelaide in the 90s, but after her sister Eran's sudden death, Anna had to decide – should she close down, or relaunch the brand with a new image and philosophy. She decided it was too precious to let go and Palas Jewellery these days is going from strength to strength. Instead of producing a range of silver jewellery as they had done together, Anna has focused on one product – charms with spiritual and personalised messages at an affordable price. It has been a big success as people find an emotional connection with the pieces, while Anna has proven that even the most difficult times, can provide greatest inspiration.
