Creating a brand based on Country culture – Angela Lavender curates an online shopfront taking regional handmade goods to Australia and the world

Angela Lavender loves her country life and she kindly gave us some insights into her vision for Country Culture at our recent Fulworks event on “Brand” and “Reputation”.  Her inspired online business, takes the best of Country Culture and closes the gap between regional Australia and the world.  That is her goal, she tells me today – AFR Weekend, 3 May 2014.

Her vision is to be the shopfront for the smaller artisans and traders from our country towns, or even our cities, who produce small quantities and need an avenue to sell their goods.  (See her video – here)

Angela is paving the way with her online retail business, launched in January 2013.  Country Culture serves three purposes: as a shopfront, as a marketing platform and as a community for like-minded marketers and designers.

Marketing and social media is where Angela will focus for growth – but she also says she will be choosy about who she supports as her brand proposition is to offer highly curated, high quality and not mass-produced product.

From gifts and soap, to candles to kitchenware and right up to fabulous bespoke furniture – you’ll find it all at Country Culture.

The girl from the country, taking country Australia and our crafts and culture, to the world.
